What’s special about this course?
The real magic of this course is that you won’t find it anywhere else! If you’re a headteacher with a board that’s running off track, or you’re lamenting that (somehow) the NPQH doesn’t cover governance in the way you need, this deeply practical session is where you’ll get the know-how you’re missing, at pace.
Tuesday 12 November,
4pm to 5.30pm, on Zoom

Managing up to get governors on track
Learn to:
- Get the right people onto your board, who are there for the right reasons
- Set the golden boundary between strategic and operational, without seeming to overstep
- Manage up and handle those tricky conversations when governors are going the wrong way
- Share data in a meaningful way – and get your report to governors into the best shape

More reasons to love this course
Active learning, not passive instruction
Your live class won't be a lecture. Bex will engage the class, invite discussion, prompt breakout activities and leave plenty of room for Q&A. You'll learn by doing, with practical tasks and regular feedback from the trainer and your class colleagues.
Learn with a cohort
of peers
Learning virtually doesn't mean learning solo. This course is designed to be rich in energising interaction between you and colleagues wrestling with similar governance challenges. It's your safe space to ask questions, share your stories and seek peer feedback, and make connections for life.
Develop your own menu of practical strategies that work
Apply what you learn straight away, with practical strategies drawn from real-world examples and expert advice. Adopt the best of what works, to help your governors step up to their real role and work with you to best effect, for immediate impact on the running of your school.
“Some of the best CPD I have been involved in"
“This course gave me confidence, opportunities to share good practice, and up-to-date research”
